Frequently asked questions
What is CBD?
How do you feel after consuming CBD?
CBD oil is one of the most popular and best-selling nutritional supplements in the world today, and is used by millions of people on a daily basis. People who take CBD report a variety of positive effects, including feelings of calmness and relaxation, general relaxation, pain relief, a gentle sense of release, vitality, alertness and focus. However, the exact sensation you will get from CBD depends on several factors, including the type of product, the dosage of CBD in it, and the personal characteristics of each user.
Does CBD cause confusion?
The cannabinoid in marijuana products that causes the blur is called THC: this is the psychoactive part of the plant. When making CBD oil, care is taken to keep the THC levels very low (while having significant amounts of CBD).
The main formulations of CBD oil around the world are defined by strict regulations regarding the amount of THC allowed in them. Pure CBD oil contains 0% THC, meaning it has no THC at all. In full spectrum or broad spectrum CBD oils, amounts of 0.2% or 0.3% THC are allowed, depending on the country.
In such a minimal amount, the psychoactive effect is practically non-existent, and it will probably be close to impossible to feel it.
Is CBD oil addictive?
The World Health Organization has confirmed that CBD is generally well tolerated and has a good safety profile. Controlled human studies have found no potential for physical dependence, addiction or habituation to CBD.
CBD oil is non-addictive both due to its biological nature and its action on the body, and due to the absence of a psychoactive effect. However, since not all CBD products are of the same quality, it is important to look for trusted brands that are able to present analytical laboratory results for the products and their contents. The manufacturer must provide the consumer with confirmation of the safety of the product, its THC content, and the solvent content remaining from the production process.
If I reacted badly to cannabis, is CBD safe for me?
Assuming that the bad reaction to cannabis means that its psychoactive effects (getting high, clouding the senses) were unwanted, then there is no reason to worry. CBD is not psychoactive, and CBD products such as CBD oil contain a negligible to zero amount of THC, which is the active substance in the marijuana plant that is responsible for the psychoactive effect.
Who can use CBD?
The growing scientific research proves beyond any doubt that taking CBD oil is extremely safe for all strata of the population at all ages. However, the research is still incomplete, and therefore it is correct and recommended to consider consulting with a doctor, therapist, or professional.
- People suffering from chronic diseases and taking medications should consult before using CBD oil.
- Taking CBD by children under the age of 18 requires consultation with a doctor and is the sole responsibility of the parent.
- Pregnancy: the experts recommend for pregnant women avoid Taking CBD oil The research in this area is still preliminary, but there is evidence that when consuming cannabis, chemicals cross the placenta and reach the fetus. Exposure to cannabis may disrupt the normal development of the fetus, although there is no data to indicate that CBD oil alone involves the same risks.
- Breastfeeding: Although there are no studies on this, experts recommend not consuming CBD while breastfeeding. Studies show that chemicals that enter the body when using cannabis can pass to the baby through breast milk.
Is it possible to overdose on CBD?
Due to the safety of CBD, the concept of “overdose” almost does not exist in the context of CBD oil. Too large a dose will cause sleepiness and fatigue that will go away within a few hours.
However, it is always recommended to stick to the instructions of the therapist or doctor. If you notice negative effects such as dry mouth, low blood pressure and drowsiness, stop using CBD and consult your therapist or doctor again.
Are CBD oil and hemp seed oil the same?
Cannabis seed oil is produced from the seeds of the hemp plant, which are rich in omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, which are mainly used in cooking and cosmetics. On the other hand, CBD oil is produced from the upper parts of the plant, and in particular from the inflorescence. The CBD oil is a derivative of the medical cannabis production process, where crops are grown that contain high percentages of CBD and lower percentages of THC.
How and where is CBD grown and harvested?
Most of the CBD products in the world are produced from cannabis (hemp) grown in a regulated manner and under strict regulations. To extract CBD oil from the hemp plant, ethanol is usually used. Alternatively, carbon dioxide is used to cool the cannabis and then the oil is extracted from it (“supercritical CO2 extraction”). Currently, the possibility of producing CBD oil using water is being investigated.
The production of CBD oil is carried out under strict standards of the pharmaceutical industry, and is accompanied by regular laboratory tests for the detection of contaminants in the raw materials and products, as well as the detection of the active ingredients.
What dose to take? How long does it take to feel the benefits?
The effects of CBD oil will vary from person to person. When the product is taken orally in a spray or dropper, the effects are usually noticed within 30 minutes to an hour, and they can last up to six hours, depending on the dose given. It is important to start with a low dose and gradually reach the dose that is right for you.
Taking CBD in an oral spray or drops under the tongue tends to be more effective, because the active substance (CBD) reaches the bloodstream directly and bypasses the digestive system, where absorption may weaken the active substances and varies from person to person. One of the most effective ways to take CBD oil is by dripping the drops on the pinky and applying directly to the pupils, from where the substance reaches the bloodstream directly.
What is the difference between pure CBD, broad spectrum CBD and full spectrum CBD?
Full spectrum extract contains all the phytochemicals found naturally in the plant, including CBD, traces of cannabinoids, terpenes and essential oils. Full spectrum hemp extracts also come with negligible THC content, below 0.3%. CBD itself, as mentioned, is not psychoactive – but the minimal presence of THC must be taken into account.
Broad spectrum CBD also contains CBD and all the other compounds in the plant. However, it goes through an additional process to remove even the tiniest amount of THC.
Pure CBD oil contains only CBD, without the other substances in the plant. It does not contain THC.
